What a soggy, sodden day in Sydney! We were awoken at 5.30am this morning in the hotel by a false fire alarm. it then took 8 minutes for the staff to inform us 9over loud speaker) that the alarm was false, to ignore it, and go back to sleep. Huh. Yeah right. Not too good in my books.
Tapestry Craft was, as usual, an expensive joy, but I met a future Canberran SnBer, moving to the ACT to study at the ANU, and ravelry-bonding proved to be fun. Not nearly as much fun as knitting book browsing at Kinokuniya (Yes, I had to buy one, I couldn’t justify three) – I snagged a copy of Sensual Knits – very nice.
The ladies at Tapestry Craft, like those at Cleggs have assured me that Zara is indeed still alive and well and their best selling brand, so the people at Cassidy’s who said it was no longer indeed do not know what they’re talking about. In fact, the one nearly had a heart attack when I mentioned that I heard this from a yarn store. So, yet another reason why not to believe, at least, the Kingston Cassidy’s people.
But I digress. I have just realised I’ll be flying into Canberra the evening before the 2020 summit. I’m not sure if I should be amused or terrified. I’ll let you know.
Right now, it’s back to the drawing board. I’ve been swatting up on another new-fangled cataloguing schema about to be rolled in – RDA. I’m getting rusty – I need to read more blogs. Oh dear.
Good weekend all! Hopefully I’ll bring some rain home with me.
