I was asked, over the weekend, how long it would take me to knit my whole stash as it currently stands – both my hoards here and in the Bay – without adding to it. Of course, I needed clarification on some points such as, expected frequency of knitting, etc, etc… and I came to … Continue reading »

Yet another church, and what will be a year of living simply.
Today was shopping day. There were things I’d seen in Paris at the start of our trip, that I was going to get. There were also things that needed to be done today, before we ran out of time. Like visit the Sacré-Cœur, if for nothing else but the view. And it was another “walk … Continue reading »

The button conundrum
Every now and then, you get somebody request you knit something – a commission. Once in a while, you get a request that has you in stunned disbelief. I had one of those in January. It was requester more than the request that had me checking to see if hell had actually frozen over, or … Continue reading »
Lessons in enforced breaks.
I always feel completely and utterly betrayed when I get sick. Like my body’s failed me on some level or another. Mind you, my body probably feels exactly the same way about my slave-driving ways and this is something along the lines of a showdown at high noon. The Yarn Hamlet
I will post more later, but I’m exhausted. It’s been a long few days. I’ll steam block it to set it tomorrow. But it is done. And here’s a sneak peek of … Continue reading »
In which the heroine lives a little.
So I don’t drink. Not if I can possibly help it. I haven’t since 2004. Yes, it is a long time ago, and yes, that does still surprise people. Okay, so I have the odd something here and there, but the moon has to turn blue first, really, for me to consider it. I like … Continue reading »
Goodness, is it June already?
I blinked and May was gone. Forgive my absence, gentle readers – its been a long and harrowing few weeks, and there is still many miles to go before the dawn. I have many a photo-heavy blog post to update of all the pretty yarn I’ve managed to acquire, and the projects I have on … Continue reading »
It’s a challenge!
DrK has been talking about her next featherweight cardi in what she has termed tom-the-hot-farmer polworth silk. I bought a skein as well with her at the OBDM Celebration of Wool last year, (and promptly bathed it in creaming soda, along with my phone). Mine’s been earmarked for a featherweight cardigan since I bought it, … Continue reading »
